The UKG Pro integration for HiThrive provides a one-way data sync of employee details from your UKG Pro instance to your HiThrive team. UKG Pro user data is automatically imported on a nightly basis over an encrypted HTTP connection. Only the fields permissioned (and mapped in HiThrive) are accessed – no other employee details are accessed or saved. This integration also provides single sign-on access for users to access HiThrive (admin, manager reporting, and reward redemption portal) directly from their UKG Pro dashboard.

What are the benefits of this integration?

Reduced administrative workload

First, this integration reduces the workload for your HiThrive administrators by automating user creation. New users will be automatically populated in HiThrive from UKG Pro. Users can also be deactivated based on data from UKG Pro.

Data consistency

Second, the integration eliminates data inconsistency. Users are updated automatically from UKG Pro, ensuring that your HiThrive data matches your UKG Pro data. This allows your organization to use UKG Pro as a single source of truth for user data.

Improved reporting

With more (and more accurate) user data, your HiThrive reporting and administration is also improved.

Please follow the steps below to enable the integration.

Configuring the integration

  1. In the HiThrive admin view, navigate to Integrations under Settings. Select the UKG Pro Integration
  2. To begin linking your UKG Pro account to HiThrive, you’ll need to you’ll need to create a HiThrive web service user account in UKG Pro.
  3. In your UKG Pro administration dashboard, navigate to System Configuration > Security > Service Account Administration.

  4. Click Add + on the top right of the page.

  5. Create a user for your HiThrive integration with the following granular permissions:

    - View role for Employee Person Details

    - View role for Personnel Integration

     

  6. In the HiThrive admin view, return to UKG Pro integration in Integrations under Settings

  7. On this screen, enter your Username and Password from the UKG Pro user you created in the previous steps.

  8. Back on your UKG Pro administration dashboard, navigate to System Configuration > Security > Web Services. Your instance URL is the first part of your Business Intelligence web service endpoint. For example, it may look like “service2.ultipro.com”

  9. Enter your instance URL into your UKG Pro integration settings on HiThrive.

  10. Copy your Customer API Key from the UKG Pro web services screen and paste it into the UKG Pro API Key field in your HiThrive integration settings.

  11. Click “Connect to UKG Pro” to save your credentials.

  12. You’re all set! HiThrive will begin syncing user data from UKG Pro overnight. If this integration requires your attention for any reason, you’ll receive an email from HiThrive prompting you to re-connect your instance.

Enable the integration and map fields

Once your integration is activated, you will need to map user profile fields to HiThrive.

  1. Enable the integration: toggle the integration to on
  2. Next to Field Mapping, click Edit 
  3. Map fields as necessary. At minimum, you must map email address, but you will want to map all fields that apply.
  4. Click Save Fields 

Note: For companies who have multiple entities in the same UKG Pro instance, be sure to map the Company ID field to filter for specific entities.
