Integrations: Oracle HCM for HiThrive

Connect Oracle HCM to HiThrive for automated, nightly employee data sync and streamlined user management.

Last updated on 10 Jul, 2026

The Oracle HCM integration provides a one-way data sync of employee details from your Oracle HCM instance to your HiThrive team. User data is automatically imported on a nightly basis over an encrypted connection. Only the fields permissioned and mapped in HiThrive are accessed — no other employee details are accessed or saved.

Benefits of this integration:

  • New users are automatically created in HiThrive from Oracle HCM, reducing administrative workload

  • Users are updated automatically, keeping HiThrive data consistent with Oracle HCM as your source of truth

  • More accurate user data improves HiThrive reporting and administration

⚠️ To set up this integration, you must have the necessary permissions (IT Security Manager) to access the Security Console in Oracle HCM. If you don't have access, contact whoever holds those permissions in your organization before continuing.

Step 1: Find your Oracle HCM address

  1. Log into your Oracle HCM instance

  2. Copy the value from your browser's URL bar

  3. Navigate to the Oracle HCM integration tile at app.hithrive.com/admin/settings/integrations and paste the URL there.

Step 2: Create a custom role for this integration

💡 Your connection flow will be personalized. The roles and privileges shown in your Oracle HCM instance may differ from the examples below. Always use the roles and privileges from your own connection flow.
  1. Click the 3-bar menu in the top left of your Oracle HCM instance

  2. Scroll down to Tools, open the menu, then select Security Console

⚠️ If you don't see the Security Console setting, you don't have the right permissions to complete this step.

  3. In the Security Console, click Create Role

  4. Follow your organization's naming and code conventions for custom roles. Note: you will not be able to change the role code or delete the role after creation. For Role Category, select HCM - Job Roles

  5. Click Add Function Security Policy and add the privileges shown in your connection flow

  6. Navigate to the Role Hierarchy step and add the roles shown in your connection flow

  7. Navigate to the Summary step and click Save and Close

  8. Wait for the custom role to be created. You can monitor progress in the Administration tab of the Security Console

Step 3: Assign a security profile to the custom role

  1. In the top right menu, click Setup and Maintenance

  2. Click the box on the right side and click Search, or use the global search if you are using Redwood

  3. Search for Assign Security Profiles to Role, press Enter, and select the matching entry

  4. Search for the custom role you created in Step 2

  5. Select the entry and click Edit

  6. Click Yes when prompted

  7. Click Next to proceed to step 2

  8. Set the following Security Criteria where shown. Select View All for each applicable profile:

Once your integration is connected:

  1. Toggle the integration to On

  2. Next to Field Mapping, click Edit

  4. Click Save Fields

You're all set. HiThrive will begin syncing within a few hours of initial setup, then nightly going forward.
