How To Make New Team Member Introductions an Organizational Strength
Updated 1 week ago
A team member's first day is a flashpoint moment in their employee journey and how you introduce them to their colleagues can make all the difference. This is your opportunity to celebrate your new hire and provide some personal anecdotes and connective tissue to spur relationship building with your existing team. Introducing new hires to your organization has never been easier to do well.
New hire announcements can be enabled through HiThrive's Admin Portal and are designed to ensure that your organization never misses a new team member's first day. By enabling this feature, HiThrive will introduce your team member to the channel that you designate including both the visual (card) and announcement template that is created. This announcement is prompted on their start date per the information that you enter on their HiThrive profile or via information automatically synced via your HRIS integration.
HiThrive currently integrates with the following HRIS platforms.
ADP
BambooHR
Ceridian Dayforce
HiBob
Namely
Paylocity
Sage HR
Sage People
TriNet
UKG (UltiPro)
Workday
Zenefits
HiThrive can populate your new hire announcement with any information that is available within the platform. By virtue of a team member's Slack profile or your HRIS integration that information may include:
Name
Profile image
Role / Title
Team / Department
Office Location
Custom Onboarding Fields
Depending on information availability, your new hire announcement may look something like the below:
As you can see in the example above, the templated announcement includes (6) custom fields, plus name and profile image. See below for some onboarding questions that make your new team member announcements a fun and connective experience.
What is your favorite movie?
What is your favorite television show?
Which Hollywood character (on-screen actor) would you most want to be?
Who is your favorite musician?
What is your favorite restaurant?
What is something that you are great at cooking?
What is your breakfast drink order?
What is the most useless talent that you have?
What is your favorite movie theater snack?
Note: Remember to give your new team members some inspiration and / or an example to ensure that you get the formatting right.
