The ADP SFTP Export provides a secure sync of employee details from your ADP instance to your HiThrive platform. 

What are the benefits of this integration?

Reduced administrative workload

First, this integration reduces the workload for your HiThrive administrators by automating user creation. New users will be automatically populated in HiThrive from ADP. Users can also be deactivated based on data from ADP.

Data consistency

Second, the integration eliminates data inconsistency. Users are updated automatically from ADP, ensuring that your HiThrive data matches your ADP data. This allows your organization to use ADP as a single source of truth for user data.

Improved reporting

With more (and more accurate) user data, your HiThrive reporting and administration is also improved.

Please follow the steps below to enable the integration.

Configuring the SFTP Export

  1. You will first need to request SFTP Export from the ADP Reporting module, which will allow ADP to export files to HiThrive's secure server on an automated basis.

  2. Your ADP representative will request that you complete a Statement of Work (SOW), an example of which is provided for your reference below.

  3. The SOW requires a Server Login Username and Password. This information can be generated through the HiThrive Admin portal -> Integrations -> FTP/SFTP
  4. The SFTP export must include the following fields:
    • Email address
    • First name
    • Last name
    • Employee status
    • Birth date (MM-DD)
    • Start date (YYYY-MM-DD)
      *It may also include additional fields specific to your platform configuration (see step 5). These additional fields are used for automated celebration personalization, reporting, and permissions. A sample csv is available here
  5. The SFTP export may include the following fields:
    • Employee type (if necessary to constrain the active user population) (ex. full-time only)
    • Manager email (for manager notifications & reporting)
    • Department (for department reporting)
    • Cost Center (for cost center reporting)
    • Title (to be included within new hire announcement messaging)
    • Location (to be included within new hire announcement messaging)
    • Note: This is not a comprehensive list. You may add any additional fields that will be useful for your platform / program design 
  6. Once completed, your SFTP file will begin syncing automatically.
