What is a recognition channel?
Whether a dedicated channel (#recognition) or something shared (#general), a recognition channel is the place(s) where HiThrive lives within your Slack workspace. All Users who are members of that Slack channel will have access to the HiThrive App (and will be included in your User count for billing purposes).
How to create a recognition channel
Step 1: Navigate to the Recognition Channels tab in the HiThrive Admin portal
Step 2: Select the + button to create a new channel
Step 3: Search for an existing Slack channel. If you would like to add HiThrive to a new channel, create it in Slack and then refresh the page.
Step 4: Set up your recognition channel
Slack channel: The Slack workspace channel that HiThrive will be activated within
Inactivity Nudge: Automatic channel announcements from the HiThrive bot when there is no activity for 7 consecutive days.
Shoutout Point Allowance: The monthly budgeted peer-to-peer recognition ("shoutouts") allowance per User of the channel. If equals 0, points on shoutouts will be automatically disabled. To learn more about points budgeting and billing please visit our article on points here.
Award Point Allowance: The monthly budgeted spot award point allowance per Manager of the channel. This applies to any managers of this channel. Managers are designated next.
Channel Managers: Only channel Managers have access to spot awards via the /award command. Managers must be members of this channel prior to selection (or they will not be available).
