Navigate to the Competitions tab in the Admin portal. Create a new competition.
What are competitions?
Competitions are a fun way to gamify and automate mini-challenges among peers (person vs. person) or groups (team vs. team). Using number of shoutouts received, awards earned, points earned, or external data (contact us for integration support), you can create time-constrained competitions with automated notifications and fun leaderboards.
How to create competitions
Step 1: Navigate to the Awards & Competitions tab in the HiThrive Admin portal
Step 2: Select Competitions from the sidebar
Step 3: Create a new Competition
*Note: To restrict competitions to certain users or groups, the desired groups must exist before creating a competition. To learn how to create groups, visit the help article here.
Name: Competition name
Description: What the competition is celebrating / represents
Start Date: When the competition will begin. Note that a notification will be automatically sent to participating users at the start of the competition.
Recurring: Whether it is one-time or recurring in nature
End Date: Only available if it is a one-time competition
Game type: Person-vs-Person (everybody competes on their own) or team-vs-team (based on the cumulative performance of the users in each team. As noted above, groups must have already been created to use team-vs-team
User group: Select the group(s) that are participating
Leaderboard metric: Which metric to quantify incl. number of shoutouts received, awards earned, points earned, or external data (contact us for integration support)
Reward: Points reward for the winner user or team
