How team members designate and change their birthday celebration preferences

Not everybody enjoys a public birthday celebration (perhaps it even depends on the year 🙃), so HiThrive allows each of your team members to celebrate their birthdays in the manner that they choose. Continue reading to see how each of your team members set their birthday celebration preferences.

The automated prompt

When configuring your HiThrive platform, the administrator can choose to allow the platform to automatically prompt your team members to designate their birthday celebration preference.

When this option is selected, HiThrive will automatically send a series of direct messages (in Slack) to each of your team members that prompt for:

1. Their birthday (month and day only). This prompt is skipped if the information has already been provided
2. Celebration preference (public or private).

Should the initial prompt be missed (or skipped), HiThrive will send 2 follow-up prompts automatically.

Manual selection

In addition to interacting with the automated prompt, your team members can always navigate to the Settings button at the bottom of their HiThrive App (see the Apps section in Slack) and designate their preference there as well.
